General Information

The population of Mid and South Buckinghamshire is 479,028. 14% of this population is made up of elderly over the age of 65. Due to the projected rise in the older population the number of admissions to accident and emergency for hip fracture will increase if appropriate intervention and prevention strategies are not adopted

CHART 2 shows the number of admissions to A&E for hip fracture for people aged 75 plus
